DiscoverSayville.com Discovered In Italy So it was that on that particular day in Vicenza, Italy, DiscoverSayville.com made its international debut Text by Regina Cline

On a sunny morning in early October, Bill Cline reached into his suitcase and pulled out his DiscoverSayville.com T-shirt and considered wearing it for the day. As is his custom, he turned to his wife and asked if she thought it was a good choice for the day. She responded with a "Sure, why not" completely uninterested in his wardrobe choices as she was experiencing a true wardrobe crises of her own at the moment. As their 17 day northern Italy adventure progressed, less and less of her clothes were fitting, Regina reports, due to gastronomical indulgences rarely seen since the gluttonous days of King Henry IV. But I digress...So it was that on that particular day in Vicenza, Italy, DiscoverSayville.com made its international debut.
Bill and his wife, Regina, following a morning of sight seeing were seated in a cafe in a little piazza sipping wine and of course eating wonderful Italian pizza (furthering the limitations of Regina's wardrobe choices, I presume) when a man came up to their table asking if they were from Sayville. From across the cafe he noticed Bill's T-shirt. It seems this man and his wife grew up in West Sayville, both graduated from Sayville High School and they continue to visit Sayville with great regularity though they now live in Boston.
Their conversation took them down memory lane as they discussed the original St. Lawrence Church, Stein's, Greaves Stationery and so much more. It seems the two wives shared another commonality in that both of their mother's were in Sayville's Petit Fleur Nursing home at the same time. The couple were encouraged to view the website to keep up to date on Sayville's current events.
Unfortunately, though Bill and Regina did ask the man's name, neither one remembers what it is. Blame the Italian wine for that.
