If you weren't in Sayville this week, you missed a hubba hubba time. First, there was the Christmas Parade. Go Sayville High School Marching Band! Ma is an alumnus. The pirate crew threw pieces of eight. The fire departments from Sayville, West Sayville and Bayport scared the heck out of me with their horns! An elf costume flew up in the air, boy, was it windy! The Sayville Rotary Club, of which I hope to march in next year's Pet Parade, brought two adorable guide dogs. (Ma! Are you listening? Your boy wants to go this year. So what if I do zippity do da when I walk. I promise I'll be good.) There were the local dance companies and Brownie and Cub Scout Troops. And bagpipes. And horses. And Santa. Woo! Woo!
Then they had the tree lighting that night and there were reindeer and a carousel.
It is nice being a small town dog. People smile when they see you and want to pet you. They say nice things. I'll take 'how cute.' Ma must know every dog in the neighborhood. The couple of times I took her walking I noticed that the other dogs made a beeline for her. She kootchie koos everything in sight. Cats, dogs, birds, velociraptors (only kidding, just wanted to see if you were paying attention.) It doesn't matter if you are a crabby dog or a snooty cat. She loves you.
Nah, I don't like it, but sometimes you have to share people.
I wish they had a Maxie balloon at the Thanksgiving Day parade. They have every other kind. I could stand at the end of the home stretch and give out my paw-o-graph (ha! ha!). And then I would like to see the Rockettes at Radio City. That kick line knocks me out. I was thinking about all this before our company came. It was a busy day. A little television. Then, greet the folks. Then beg. Then lay down. Then beg. Listen to the conversation under the table hoping someone would drop a drumstick. (Too polite). Look cute for a head scratch. So tiring. I was out cold by 8:30.
Well, time to look at The Shaggy Dog. Hope you had a nice Thanksgiving. Max
