Max here.
Ma got promoted to editor of the
Long Island Advance. She is happy, but starting to mutter to herself again. But she is only two weeks into the job. I figure after a month, she'll either be screaming out loud or will just calm down.
The 23-year-old burgundy Jeep that looks like it's been to Afghanistan and back, the one everyone knows as the "Lindamobile" will be getting a rest. Ma has a relationship with her cars. She calls them sweetie, thanks them for getting her to her destination safely, is happy they work. Well, it is taking a vacation. She bought a new Honda. No one will recognize her now, the old car was so distinctive. She didn't care what it looked like as long as it ran safely. Figured it was time to switch gears. Her girlfriends won't know what hit them, not driving in a car with a screwdriver that holds the window up. Didn't care that it didn't have a radio. That was stolen at the train station. She practicaly held a funeral for her old Datsun when it was given to charity.
That's what I like about her. No pretenses.
