Congratulations to the seven Sayville Music students and five alternates (listed below) who achieved All-State status as a result of the highest proficiency scoring during the NYSSMA festival last spring. These students will perform at the 2008 NYSSMA Winter Conference (Rochester) in December.
While over 2,400 students this year received scores of 98 or higher and were recommended for All-State consideration, only 900 musicians have been picked statewide to participate in NYSSMA Conference All-State music groups.
Considering the number of students from our small school district who qualified, members of the Sayville music department and School District are delighted by the accomplishments of the following deserving students:
