Is photography a profession, hobby or was this a lucky shot?
This can be considered somewhere between a hobby and an obsession.

What kind of camera did you use?
Canon 30D.

How did you hear about the contest?
I saw the ad in "This Week."

Did you think you had a winner when you took the shot?
I take a lot of pride in my photos. I hope that every shot is a "winner" of some sort. It is very gratifying to find that the committee has agreed with me on this one!

Can you tell us a little something about the photo?
After many years of wanting them, I finally broke down and purchased a set of studio lights. They were delivered on the evening before Thanksgiving. I quickly set them up in my living room and enlisted my son to be my (thankfully willing) model. This is one of the photos taken during that initial "studio" session.

What's your history with art/photography?
I have forever dabbled with everything from pencil sketching, to oil painting, to photography. Photography is special to me because it captures memories and emotions within the images. I constantly "see" photographs wherever I look, and am thrilled whenever I am lucky enough to have my camera in hand to capture one.
